Professional Development Plan

I am in the beginning stages of my Professional Development Plan.  My plan is to focus on how incorporating social responsibility in the classroom brings about a stronger desire to learn based on the secure relationships and beneficial outcomes that are achieved.  Along with these benefits, students will become aware of how they impact the world around them with the choices they make.

Below is a slideshow I created while working on my master's.  In the slideshow, I explain how social responsibility can be taught and used in the classroom, similar to how we use Howard Gardner's multiple intelligence methods.  In science and math, many correlations can be made to social responsibility and how one person (or thing) can affect others.  Curriculum examples would include how forces act upon and affect an object (physics), how the leg lengths of a right triangle affect its hypotenuse (geometry), or how lightning is dependent on the location of charges in the storm cloud (meteorology).

Turn up the sound on your computer and enjoy!
